DC Ranch?s origins reach all the way back to 1885, when Dr. W. B. Crosby first registered the DC cattle brand. A Wisconsin businessman, E. O. Brown, claimed the land that would soon grow into a 43,000-acre cattle ranch, and, in 1901, he purchased the DC brand. The last cattle drive from DC Ranch took place in the late 1950s. In 1993, DC Ranch LLC, the developer of the community, partnered with the landowners to create the premier community residents enjoy today.
Four neighborhoods?Desert Parks Village, Desert Camp Village, Market Street Village and Country Club Village?make up DC Ranch. Desert Parks Village offers a classic neighborhood design with tree-lined streets and intimate residential settings. Based on Spanish, Craftsman and Western Regional architecture, dwellings offer distinctive touches, such as elevated front porches and garages. Desert Camp Village borders many of the community?s parks and trails, as well as one of the community centers. The beautiful setting of this neighborhood draws in residents for life.
Market Street Village is a blend of quaint neighborhoods and urban living. This neighborhood is located next to Market Street?s collection of shops, restaurants and services, as well as the Market Street Park. The final neighborhood in DC Ranch, Country Club Village, offers the security and prestige of a guard-gated community, as well as the private membership club, The Country Club.
DC Ranch promotes the idea of ?connected living,? or staying in touch with one?s neighbors by way of the many community amenities, all which are within walking distance. There are two community centers, Desert Camp Community Center, a 9-acre recreational facility, and the 4-acre Desert Parks Community Center. There are also 33 miles of paths and trails, which will eventually incorporate the McDowell Sonoran Preserve.
DC Ranch is home to two superior golf courses and country clubs. The Country Club at DC Ranch combines a 34,000-square-foot hacienda-style clubhouse with a courtyard, indoor and outdoor dining areas, a fitness area, six tennis courts, a lap pool, a children?s play pool and an 18-hole golf course.
